We're embarking on a project to remodel a beach condo in the Daytona Beach area. We acquired the condo in December 2009. It is unfurnished, but has appliances and bathroom vanities, showers, toilets, etc. Very dated too, something out of a early 1990's movie. You can see the picture on the right showing the kitchen and family room. Standard (ugly) greenish carpet, cheap ceramic tile in the kitchen.
The Plan
Our plan is simple: replace everything :) The high level plan is to basically replace everything eventually, as budget allows. This condo will be mainly used by us, for weekend excursions, along with friends and family for the occasional stay-over.
- Remove all flooring from all rooms.
- Remove nasty wallpaper from bathrooms and kitchen
- Repaint all paintable surfaces
- Replace dated light fixtures throughout.
- Porcelain tile for all flooring in all rooms.
- Crown moulding in bedrooms and family room
- Recessed kitchen lighting in place of old, yellowed dome lighting
- New bathroom vanities.
- Re-do bathroom tubs and showers with tile
- Replace kitchen cabinets and appliances ($$$!)
- Re-texture lanai walls
Looks great...
